Support World Malaria Day

Malaria is an easily preventable disease but millions of people in poor countries are still dying because of it. It kills someone every 45 seconds. In 2009, it claimed the lives of 781,000 million people including children. It also affected nearly half a billion people in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Those deaths are preventable

25th of April is World Malaria Day. It’s a date to commemorate the international effort to stop malaria from claiming too many lives.

What is it?

It’s a global initiative to increase awareness of the disease, its prevalence and to celebrate the international efforts to eradicate malaria.

Who is running it?

The RBM Partnership (Roll Back Malaria) is encouraging individuals, international governments, businesses and non-government organisations to help control malaria by donating their time or money, passing legislations to help countries devastated by malaria and including malaria prevention in their business strategies.
